When I woke up I ate an orange. I decided to fill my day with romantic comedies and so I began watching Breakfast at Tiffany's. That movie is totally overrated other than how extremely classy Audrey Hepburn looks at all times.
For lunch I ate a little oatmeal topped with a fried egg. I had woken up late so I ate the orange around noon and the oatmeal around 2. Around 4:30 I tossed some chickpeas with curry powder, garlic powder, pepper and a tablespoon of olive oil. This was my afternoon snack.
For dinner, I made whole wheat pasta with broccoli, mushrooms, onions and olives. I saved some of what I made to eat for today's lunch. After dinner I ate a piece of dark chocolate and another orange.
I also watched Annie Hall and Moonstruck yesterday. Out of all of them, Moonstruck was obviously my favorite.
I got myself together to work out yesterday. I don't want to slow down at all and I'm afraid that if I do I'll never start back up again.
Today went about the same. I'm still sick, still hydrating, and still hoping to get better! I started off with an orange again, and the same oatmeal and fried egg. For lunch, I had steamed broccoli and a tiny bit of leftover wholewheat pasta from yesterday.
I don't think I'm going to work out today. I've been drinking tons of water and tea hoping to flush it out of my system so I'm just going to keep pushing and hope that my body fixes itself by tomorrow. Just let it rest for the day. Unfortunately, laying in bed and watching TV just makes me want to eat. And eat more.
So after lunch I ate a teaspoon of peanut butter and a cup of green grapes. For dinner I am going to make a bean and corn lime chili with lots of hot sauce to wake up my sinuses. I don't really like soup that much which is why I haven't really eaten any, but also because Barcelona apparently doesn't eat soup either.
I have successfully completed my challenge of the week which was to only drink once. I'm not sure if I would have had I not gotten sick but regardless, I've won. I think the real challenge here is not to challenge my drinking or my fun-having, but to be sensible whilst still having fun. And not binge eating. That is going to get particularly hard considering I am going to get my period this week (sorry dad--and any other random boy readers). I think all that means for me is that I will have to get more creative with my recipes and make sure that they meet all of my cravings in healthy ways.
I am going to try to make protein brownies this week, as I know I will want something chocolatey. Better 85 calorie brownies than 10 chocolate bars and some ice cream! Am I right?
So, I have successfully completed Monday-Sunday. And even with my little breakdown on Tuesday night, I still think I've been a success. I do believe I've lost 2 pounds.
Coming up for the month of March: A juice cleanse!!
